In the second year studio course GRPH-2009 (Graphic Design 1), we were tasked with visually communicating a perspective on the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, the new addition to the Royal Ontario Museum. This was to be done through the creation of a static motion composition without the use of type, a motion composition without the use of type, and a motion composition with only the use of type.
I chose to communicate the perspective of Daniel Libeskind, who was the lead architect in the contruction of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal. His perspective is quoted as "Why should one expect the new addition to the ROM to be 'business as usual'? Architecture in our time is no longer an introvert's business. On the contrary, the creation of communicative, stunning and unexpected architecture signals a bold re-awakening of the civic life of the museum and the city" and can be found on the official website of the Royal Ontario Museum ( https://www.rom.on.ca/en/about-us/rom/michael-lee-chin-crystal ).
